one year ago today...

my friend jp and i took a trip to nashville
for the recording of our first album.
headed to nashville. we were somewhere in Atlanta when we took this photo.
it was an amazing experience.
and we were super excited, as you can see...
we spent long hours in a studio.
many more hours in a car. and fun times speeding to the airport.

but what was most amazing to me, was the experience of
working with top quality musicians who love jesus deeply
and are extremely humble.
oh, and the results were beyond our expectations.
in 2 days, we had all the music recorded for 99.9% of the album.

we will never forget these guys...

for those of you who may not know about our music,
feel free to visit

a life well lived is a life well spent

i thank the lord today for the life i live
for the priviledges i have to live a life for him
to serve him, to praise him
in so many areas of the world people are struggling and dying
in my side of the fence, i am rich even though i lack
because so much of what i have is luxury to billions of people today
and i am grateful for the little blessings of every day that make my life
awesome
it's not perfect
but it's blessed
it's only a reflection of a redeemed life
a life that God has chosen to use
not because im any better than others
but because he chose me
and because i answered that call and
walk everyday fighting the good fight
fighting myself to be His entirely
to surrender me to become more like him
learning that although i cant always have what i want
my Lord gives me more than I deserve
and that is love indeed...

my trip this past weekend was just an expression
of his love for me, by giving me the opportunity
to do what i am called to do as a follower of jesus
and that is worship and praise Him
thank you God for giving me the special priviledge
to sing beautiful melodies to you, to share you with others through music

enjoy some photos from our concert on saturday
be blessed!

lovely bits & pieces of the weekend

well hello there.
ive had an amazing weekend.
a very hot & humid one
but beautiful.
i attended  a friend's wedding on saturday.
and well her wedding was dreamy.
she looked beautifull. they both did.
ricky and maj are such godly people
i was busy having fun in bridesmaid duty so i dont have many photos
but here are some

{these are blurry phone photos, but you'll appreciate her beauty...}

{...and my awkward bridesmaid face}

on sunday
it was Kairos time
jp and i visited a local church
to worship and share our music
after the service we set up a table with our merchandise
and a funny story happened
this church donated food to its members
and  an elderly lady kept coming by our table
and well she asked if we could discount the cd
we did
and i guess she thought she needed to make up  for it
by offering donated food to us
so cute
so our cds were surrounded by canned apple sauce
what a deal ;)

wishing you all a happy monday - don't forget to smile/laugh/rejoice
 because
"laughter makes the world a happier place"

ps: did i mention that it's real HOT here...
and everywhere else...
drink lots of water and stay cool!

good fun in new england - boston part 1

So here's what i call a short recap...

on saturday i traveled to Boston on a never ending flight of 3 long hours. let me tell you, not even my books helped. or the expensive coffee and water. what is it with airlines these days. nothing is free any more? geez.

sunday, jp and i got up early to head to Leon de Juda Church (Lion of Judah). We worshipped there for two services and i was blown away by the quality of the church and the great people. then later that evening we visited another church for our final service of the day. we met so many great people and were seriously blown away by how the lord used us.

after the first service, a beautiful girl approached me and i knew immediately it was sweet Ana from World Through My Eyes! I had left her a note about my trip knowing she is was in the area and she agreed to come see us at the church.

Ana is as sweet looking as her pictures depict and she is such a kind soul. She even brought me a gift that somehow was the perfect fit for me. a set of 3 journals. she must know i love to write. for a first blogger meet up this was GREAT! we clicked right away and the awkwardness of meeting someone for the first time was not there at all. it was like we were soul sisters. we discovered that we have more in common than we thought. it's so awesome to put faces and smiles and real life discussions to the friends we meet in blog world. thank you Ana for coming to see me and for being a sweetheart!

and if you are wondering, yes, i did enjoy some yummy clam chowder!

ps: i did celebrate the 4th in Boston, but i'll post on that tomorrow. hope you all had a great 4th!!
oh by the way, the first photo of the city, i stole from jp.

be careful how you act around the camera

...cause you might get caught
in an awkward face situation.
not sure what my
beautiful
sophisticated
face is trying to transmit here

am i angry?
tired?

was it because it was the one millionth hour
of photo shoot
or
maybe it was the i-cant-smile-for-the-1-billionth-time
photo syndrome

i dont know

what i know is that
jp loved this photo
well his side of it at leastand unfortunately he can't use it
because
aside from my intriguing face
there are those creepy fingers behind his neck

counting your blessings

some times great lessons come in little packages. they are not necessarily nicely wrapped, like an engagement ring that you recognize right away. and sometimes they are not pretty at all or even easy to unwrap. but nonetheless the reward within, it's worth opening. i enjoy getting these little treasures, but unfortunately i dont recognize their worth until ive gone through the process of discovering them. unwrapping them. analyzing them and then truly acknowledging how they've changed me. it's like God intended to make some rewards difficult to attain, because in that difficulty, in that struggle, you pay a price for a reward. and once that price is paid, that thing you worked for, has an unmeasurable price. it's priceless. you've earned it with your work and determination. this weekend i enjoyed one of those little surprises. and it came in the form of a little church, in literally a-whole-in-the-wall. no offense intended. the place was so little, packed with fervent worshipers, lacking proper AC, lacking projectors, appropriate sound equipment and instruments (as perhaps we would assume in comparison to our own church), and using the hallway of the small plaza crowded with businesses as their fellowship hall. of course the service occurred at night, allowing them the liberty to do that. and i was so impressed by the humility these believers showed as they celebrated joyfully their three year anniversary in this same location. and i know their road and struggle has not been easy, but they remain faithful. jp and i were invited to sing and share a moment of worship with them.

but in reality they were the ones to gift me a special moment as i was passed on this little treasure i would call gratitude. and this little  box has just been opened and there's still much more left to unwrap as i reach the true value of this gift. of the ability to be grateful for all things during all circumstances. but also as i learn to count the blessings i have in my life that i dont appreciate enough, like been able to worship God every sunday in ample space with cool air conditioning and no sweat to distract me. and it encouraged me to move forward with what has become a two-week decluterring streak in my room. ive been slowly working my way simplifying and giving away some things. little did i know that boxes and tons of bags later i'd stil be left with too much. "too-much" that i often labeled as not-enough. but this little church shed some light and moved me to see my blessings for what they are worth and share them with those who lack so much.
