dear 4th week of january,

you've really kept me busy. non-stop working. few hours of sleep. lot's of paperwork, long hours and coffee. i almost got upset with you, half way through the journey. too many financial reports, program analysis and testimonials, even pictures and receipts. it just seemed too tedious for a girl like me. but i was wrong to even complain. you see, you've earned me wonderful opportunities, chats, breakthroughs and long-term joy. thank you really. i'm over worked this morning, possibly over caffeinated, but im happy. so many great things are coming soon, i honestly can't wait for your friend february to arrive, please don't take that as an offense. guess i'll be seeing you next year.

i love that with these shoes, i can go from classy to sassy...

i wish their heel was a bit higher though

there's something powerful about fridays...

that creates the yearning in me to read a book

while visiting  my secret place in the dawn hours to get away....

to breathe easier. to let the wind caress my hair and my cares away. to suddenly feel whole again, not broken from the stress of the previous five days, full of thinking, analyzing and who knows what else.
just a time to suck in nature, god's creation, and here him whisper in my ears with the special music of the silence and the water as they hit the rocks.

fridays are powerful, they awaken desires beyond this world, desires of peace and calm that i can only reach by getting away from the capitalist mentality of our roads and gated homes.
fridays call me to breathe, to elope with the solace of loliness and a book. a journal. and a cup of tea.
fridays free me to be, to seek a fresh start to another week.

today all i want to do is this

because it's friday!!!

and i just cant wait for next week.

so many things are in store.

a special birthday {me, me, me!}

dinner, cake, balloons...

{can't wait}

and traveling to Rhode Island to sing

and of course see my buddy Ana.

then a trip to Ecuador... then Boston.

...i just cant wait for all the fun that awaits.

the weekend, some thoughts & plans

it's friday. and you know im excited.
im so grateful for all your comments and encouragements in my last post.
im glad to know that so many of you out there relate and truly want to serve
and honor God with your lives.

this weekend, i dont have many plans
but
after last nights bible study,i have 3 things in my mind that Paul advices in 1 Thessalonians 5:

1. rejoice always.
2. pray without ceasing
3. do not quench the spirit

i was so encouraged by Paul's final instructions and benediction here as he closed this letter.
and i am encouraged today to do the same.
because no matter what circumstance, what troubles, what good or bad is going on
we should always prayerfully rejoice in the Lord because it's his will
and because as Romans 8:28 says "we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose."
Amen.

So... anyway,

this weekend i plan to clean out my closet.

yikes. i know.

my friends are going on a mission's trip to Costa Rica

and are asking that we donate everything and anything 

so that they are able to take down there and bless those they will minister.

so i want to take this time to give away and clean up.

and hopefully i will bring some pretty order to my jammed-packed closet.

any suggestions for organizing a small closet???
