i want to be like john

the last few days ive been contemplating on what to share here. how to be original, original and cute. no new burst of creativity has occurred these days. i guess you can say ive been too busy having fun. so as i pondered today on what to share to you and the world i've decided to say this:

freedom in Christ is the best thing that could have happened to me.
i love him so much.

not because of what he has done for me. but simply because he loves this mess of a woman that i can be. and i love the way that he approaches me and makes me better. every day as i choose to honor him and serve him, he in turn makes me the prettiest girl ever. forget losing weight. his love is being poured into me and it's producing this glow effect that i really like. the way jesus shines on me is better than the best make-up or having the best hair. it's a natural pretty that comes from within. i can smile. i can laugh. i can be silly. i can love. and love. and love. and rejoice in him because he is the one who gives me strength.

knowing his supremacy and greatness really encourages me.

so here i leave you with some verses from our Monday devotional at the office (which for some god reason, i've been asked to help do)

i want to be like John - John the Baptist  -
& prepare the way for my King to be known

"Now a discussion arose between some of John's disciples and a Jew over purification. And they came to John and said to him, “Rabbi, he who was with you across the Jordan, to whom you bore witness—look, he is baptizing, and all are going to him.”

John answered, “A person cannot receive even one thing unless it is given him from heaven. You yourselves bear me witness, that I said, ‘I am not the Christ, but I have been sent before him.’ The one who has the bride is the bridegroom. The friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly at the bridegroom's voice. Therefore this joy of mine is now complete.

He must increase, but I must decrease.

He who comes from above is above all. He who is of the earth belongs to the earth and speaks in an earthly way. He who comes from heaven is above all. He bears witness to what he has seen and heard, yet no one receives his testimony. Whoever receives his testimony sets his seal to this, that God is true. For he whom God has sent utters the words of God, for he gives the Spirit without measure. The Father loves the Son and has given all things into his hand.

Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.

(John 3:25-36 ESV)

  1. Dude, this was just what I needed this morning. It made me smile when I read that He in turns make you the prettiest girl ever (and then you mention "forget losing weight") haha! You go girl, and keep that glow a-shinin'! People will be naturally drawn to that pretty smile of yours, to the glow of Jesus' love. I pray that that love is not taken for granted by those around you. Thank you for posting this!
