i've been wanting to share great photos on here

so i decided to hire someone to do the work for me

since most of you out there have a gorgeous hubby doing it for you

i opted for the cutest man in my life.

meet the photographer.

he is 5 and about 40lbs

and possibly less than 3 feet tall

(i have no clue really!)

but definitely half my size.

as you can see his work is quite impressive.

but then we got into some problems

after 500 photos taken

(which is what you need in order to get a good one!)

he decided he wanted to go back to his old job

(whatever it is 5-year-olds do)

and left me on my own

and im doing a darn good job

i'm not sure this is going to work out!

in case you have nothing to do this weekend

i recommend....

...dancing in front of your MacBook.

(of course while it snaps photos or video of you)

here are some recommendations:

make sure your hair is wild enough.

that you are barefoot.

that no one is watching.

and that you laugh while at it.

that is real LOLing

when shopping is a pleasure

it's been a while since i do a bit of a fashion post. and since ive recently enjoyed my thrifting adventures so much, i had to share this find. a.skirt.i.love. and i apparently had a good hair day, so you are in for a treat.

most worn & loved

dressing-up has become a lot fun and lately comes really natural. i like putting fun pieces together and being as unique as possible all while maintaining a modest look. in a world where so many things are short and revealing, creativity is required to keep it cute, chaste and unique. basically it requires some layering. at least this has worked for me for church and everyday style.

here are a few pieces i love to wear and use often. friends would know. 

1. most worn lip gloss/lipstick.

i'm in loving Victoria Secret's Pretty. i wear it everyday. i usually pair it with VS Blush Lip-gloss for a nice natural look.

2. most worn earrings.

i'm not all into small earrings cause i have so much hair and they get lost in there, but i really love wearing some F21 gold heart-shaped earrings. they are really unique and work with almost anything.

3. most worn top/shirt.

well i'm kinda into dresses right now and short-dresses that i make into tops. so i layer it and mix it in a bit. 

4. most worn nail polish.

i'm loving this brick red-ish one i bought at a bargain the other day. really into colorful tones for spring and summer.

5. most worn shoes. 

tough choice cause i love so many. but my new pastel sandals are definitely my favorite right now.

6. most worn necklace.

i'm really into necklaces too, but this is definitely one i love and wear often. i actually fell in love with it the minute i saw on my sister and since it's been mine. 

7. most worn perfume/lotion.

i really like Victoria Secret and i'm ODing on her Pink and Dream Angels Heavenly. but really is because im out of covet by SJP.

8. most worn handbag/purse.

i love big purses... or so i thought. the minute i spotted this baby at a thrift shop, i loved it immediately. i bought it and had my buddy john, who conviniently works at a shoe and purse repair shop, give it a face lift. it has been my best companion since.

everything is gonna be alright...

 these days ive been so busy that ive haven't had a chance to be around here as often as i would like. as you may know ive been working on music for the last two months and it's been quite a ride. but God has carried me through it all! ive truly enjoyed seeing God's hand at work.

anyhow, i thought i show you a look from the weekend and my sort of sleepy face with new hair style included. what do you think?

btw, this has to be one my favorites bags... anything purple usually takes my heart. :)

1. I really love coffee. And I need to quit. unfortunately. Or at least cut back... 

2. in the shower, when washing my hair, it's when the light bulb goes off. great ideas flow, revelation comes, problems are solved... it must be the shampoo.

3. contrary to my parents believe, ive actually turned into a pretty neat person, most of the time. and i actually enjoy cleaning. guess their days of strict cleaning policies worked... years later.

4. solitaire is my buddy.

5. i love homemade sandwiches. with hot chocolate or coffee. while blogging or reading a book. aaah

6. it took me like 4 attempts to get my license. driving was my biggest fear conquered to this day.

7. im actually really shy... but ive overcomed a lot of it.

8. i tend to be very private... and i believe in a little bit of mystery with some things.

9. John Frieda and my curls are best buddies. 

10. i look forward to having a nice house to grow old in (house should include two floors, a nice patio, balcony in my room with a nice view, big kitchen, a grand piano in the living area and maybe a dalmatian) .... future husband take note.

beauty is fleeting... but a ♥ surrendered is eternally gleaming

I find a delight in getting ready each morning. There are days when things just flow and work gracefully in an outfit. And there’s this joy in my heart, this smile in my face, when I manage to do that. It’s like the icing on top of my favorite cupcake. Hmm. Then I stare at my face and see how in so many years, I’ve learned to appreciate this woman staring back at me. I see past the blemishes. I put on my make-up. I make sure to flatter her. She smiles back at me and promises to walk the day confidently. Flawlessly. Then my hair bounces back at me. Making its noticeable appearance in this reflection. Dark and bright it shines back at me. I’m surprised at how much I  cherish it. I once rejected it. But now it’s fulfilling. Careless. Freeing. The whole look works gently. Confidence beaming. I walk out to the world ready to beat it. Smiling secretly inside myself.

And then I think back to that sorrowful woman who once used to stare back. She’s gone through some changes. She’s not the same I just saw smiling confidently back. Her eyes were saddened. She was feeling disguised. She hid under despair, insecurities and lies. She felt ugly, no wonder she couldn’t shine. Darkness she let surround her, although the light fought to shine. She couldn’t see past the blemishes and appreciate the glam. The beauty that was growing within her, which made her special and wise. It took a greater love to reveal it. A greater might to transform, that woman whose hope was fleeting but whose grace had grown. She was scared to break loose, to let go of past chains and dislikes. But a love so great overcame her and made her realize. No matter how hard she try to cover the scars with make-up, clothes, and fake laughs, the reflection would be unsightly until she accepted she needed to let the old woman die. She let go and believed. She strongly jumped to the light. Finding herself free. Beautifully saved. At last.

Today that woman is me. Walking confidently towards my dream. After having defeated the things, insecurities that tried to stop me. It’s still a battle to fight, but a war that has been won. As Paul said,

“Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own… I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus” Phil. 3:12-14

Remember … it’s not about what’s on the outside, but what’s inside... and keep this in mind: “charm is deceitful, and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.” Prov. 31:30

I know I talk about my singing adventures here, but since I’m usually all over the topic realm in this blog, I felt it was ok to throw in some FASHION.

I wore this look for work yesterday and felt great it in. Very comfortable. And most importantly very “me”. Then I went for the photos and realized how awkward I can be.
