It's time we do something!

It's inevitable to not feel sorrow when looking at the images of what's happening in our world. In the distant world for us in North America, but nonetheless a real world. People just like us, suffering and dying. Some of us just go about our day, perhaps, without even thinking about it. Others may react and shortly move on to their busy schedules and few are moved to pray and/or give. I can't say I've run to mobilize my city to help the hurting abroad, but today I sit here moved by my lack of response to helping the people in our world. Our siblings in Japan. Our siblings in New Zealand. Our siblings in Haiti and even those in Egypt. The world is in chaos, or at least some people's world is in chaos. Here in my town, there is nothing to complain about. The weather is great. There's no fear of a nuclear plant exploding. Just regular life. And many of us don't have any {major} concerns other than perhaps what dinner should be.

I pray that our hearts are not numb to the pain of others.

Regardless of who they are, let us pray for the world. Let us make a difference. If you can't give money, give time, pray for people whose world has caved in. I think we would appreciate it, if we were the ones enduring this situation.

WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE and RAISE AWARENESS!

  3. Oh, it is heartbreaking! It has been lovely to see the out pouring of support from the blogging community reaching out to our Japan friends!

  6. Nice post! Very inspiring. It's such a shame that tragedy has to strike before people start to see beyond their own backyard...
